Email Support: Microsoft Outlook Express 6

Before you Begin
Setting up your email account is fairly simple. Before you read these instructions be sure to have the following information available to you:
  • Your email address (Example: user@yourdomain.com)
  • The password that was assigned to you (usually 6-8 characters)
  • Your incoming & outgoing mail servers (Example: mail.yourdomain.com)
Setup Instructions
1.
Open Outlook Express.
2.
Select "Accounts" from the "Tools" menu.

Click on the "Add" button and choose "Mail".

Enter your name as you would like it to appear when sending email.
Click Next.

Enter your email address.
Click Next.

Enter your incoming & outgoing mail servers, usually the same. Your incoming mail server is a "POP3" server.
Click Next.
7. Enter your account username. This is the same as your email address, but with a % instead of an @.
Enter the password that was assigned to your account.
Make sure "Remember password" is checked.
Click Next.
Click Finish.

Select your new account, then click the "Properties" button.

Click the "Servers" tab at the top of the window.

Check the box labeled "My server requires authentication".
Click the "Settings" button.

Click the option labeled "Log on using".
Enter your account username. This is the same as your email address, but with a % instead of an @.
Enter the password that was assigned to your account.
Make sure "Remember password" is checked.
Check the box labeled "Log on using Secure Password Authentication"
Click OK.
Click Close.
 
All done. Your new email account is setup.

Tips to Get Started with Email: Click the "Send/Recv" button at the top of the window to check for new mail. Use the "Create Mail" button to write & send a new email.
